Frequently Asked Questions

I am interested in coming on retreat, how do I get started?

Start with Program Reservation and Assessment. Find step  by step  instructions here>>.

How do I get to your retreat?

Our nearest airport is Hilo International ITO. Kona airport is too far and not a good option unless you can get yourself over to the east side. You can reach Honolulu easily from most airports and then get a connecting flight to Hilo (40 minute flight). Direct flights to Hilo are available from LAX. Navigate to the Traveling to Hawaii Naturopathic Retreat page for exact details.

How do I get from the airport to your place?

Pick up and drop-off to and from Hilo International Airport is included in programs that are 10 days and longer. Wait for us curbside and we will make sure you get where you need to be. Detailed pick up information will be given to you once you are booked for a retreat program.

Are there additional costs?

Yes, our programs have a basic daily rate and all other modalities, treatments and supplements are additional. For Lifestyle Change programs these items are recommended and prescribed by the physician based on the person’s unique health history, need and budget available. For Wellness programs modalities, procedures and treatments can be added on a la carte depending on the needs and budget of the person.View breakdown of pricing on the program pages (Lifestyle Changes, Wellness).  In the case of Gerson Therapy programs, there are packages and the pricing is well laid out and see here.

What about refunds?

Read the next question about cancellations and refunds. It does sometimes happen that patients do not use all “optional / recommended” services paid for. Out patient services department carefully review and reconcile each patient’s account. In most cases any credits are used towards other services, but sometimes there could be a small refund due and then it is issued. This apply to optional and recommended items only. For returning supplements there is always a 20% restocking fee that is applied.

Can I change plans or cancel at any time?

CANCELLATION POLICY: Two Weeks or more before arrival date – if you cancel TWO weeks or more before arrival date, you will receive a full refund. Less than two week before arrival – if cancellation is made less than TWO weeks before arrival, you will receive an 80% refund. Cancellation after arrival – if cancellation is made after arrival, there will be no refund without a medical emergency; a credit can be issue toward a future stay within  one year. In case of a medical emergency, a refund will be made for the unused portion of your stay. In the case of booking tours, sessions and treatments while at the retreat a 24-hour notice is required for cancellation to receive a full refund.
